Each year, LAGERS celebrates the men and women who serve tirelessly to make our communities safe, clean, and thriving places to live through the Missouri Local Government Hero Award. This program annually bestows the Hero Award upon an outstanding LAGERS member who has consistently acted above and beyond their call of duty in service to making their community a better place. Nominees are selected based on the following criteria:
- The nominee’s willingness to go above and beyond the daily duties of a public servant.
- The nominee’s positive impact on their community as a whole.
- The nominee’s positive impact on their co-workers, place of work and/or field of work.
- The nominee’s activities or accomplishments that brought distinction to themseleves, their employer and/or community they serve.
- The nominee’s example of LAGERS’ values is through their words and actions.
