Megan Loehner serves as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer for Missouri LAGERS. She joined the team in March 2010. Megan has worked alongside the Chief Investment Officer sharing in the responsibility of the management of the LAGERS’ investment portfolio. The portfolio has earned a return of 10.9% over the last ten years ending June 30, 2019, beating the assumed rate of return of 7.25% and the policy benchmark of 8.3%.

Megan’s responsibilities include ongoing portfolio management of all managers and assets, conducting new manager search processes, assisting in asset allocation and risk allocation decisions, as well as the asset/liability study that is conducted every 5 years. Prior to joining LAGERS, she worked for three years as an Investment Officer for the Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) where she focused on the Private Equity and Domestic Equity programs.

Megan is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Science in Accounting. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). She was also named as one of the “Top 30 Women Rising Stars in Institutional Investing” by Trusted Insight.
